Starting a ... Non Profit?
I would like to start a nonprofit organization that will help to provide families with children who confronted with medical emergencies that must remain in the hospital with baskets full of necessary basic care, such as toiletries travel size, snacks, magazines and gift cards for pizza. As a parent of a child who has been diagnosed with cancer twice, I know how hard it is to get stuck in a room Hospital ready and willing to have something like this. Was this an idea of a utility not??
This is a great idea for a nonprofit organization. In fact, many existing offering such assistance to the families of sick children. An example of a well-known is the Ronald McDonald House. Many children's hospitals or hospitals that have facilities for children popular have their own foundations to provide such assistance. If the hospital in their area not already do, why not approach them and offer to help get a program started? Starting a nonprofit is a time consuming task (see other posts for details). Rather spend their time creating a program to help families or administrative tasks of a non-profit item? It sounds like you have a passion for this cause and will suggest you spend your time advancing it. Hope this helps. Good luck!
