How Do I Organize All My Kids Different Sports Schedules?
I have kids that all have different sports and after school schedules and was wondering how other parents handle organizing everything?
Please provide details!
Thanks
While I am not a parent, in high school I had a very hectic schedule as did my two sister, this is what my parents did.
On the wall in the kitchen was a large white board (available at most home stores) and they have used black electrical tape to mark off time blocks in a grid format. It had 8 columns and I forget how many rows. Each column (except the first which was reserved for the time) was a day of the week. Each row had a time period...I think one hour blocks from like 8 to 8 and then a blank one at the bottom. As we had appointments and practices, we (as we got older) or my parents would list it on the board for the time period we had to be where. We each had our own color marker (which we got to pick). They also used the board to note when it was their week to drive the carpool.
Speaking of which is another suggestion for you. Talk to the other parents if your kids are involved in team sports. Odds are just like you they have different aged kids who have to be in 30 places at once. You can share carpooling which can relieve some of your stress. Get enough parents willing to do it you might only have to drive the carpool to one practice a month.
