I am scared to death! pls help!!?
Ok so I want to get on birth control since I will be getting married soon and having sex, but I heard that you have to get a pap smer test before they will give you birth control. Why do you have to (I think it stupid)? Does it hurt? How long does it last? My fiancé says he doesn't want me to get one cause it will tear my hymen (I'm a virgin) will it? Do you have to get one if you go to planned parenthood? What do they do during a pap test? Please help me!!
-You need to have a pap smear because it's pre screening for cervical cancer. They basically take something that looks like a long Q-tip and the doctor will swab your cervix.
-No, it doesn't hurt. The actual pap smear takes 5-10 seconds and it feels like a normal period cramp when the swab your cervix.
-Your hymen has a hole in it to allow menstrual fluid to leave the body, so just ask the doctor to be extra careful and they shouldn't tear your hymen at all.
Nobody likes getting pap smears but it's part of life. They are very important in young women to have one.
