Reagan's Star Wars Program Outcomes?
In history class we are learning about Reagan's Star Wars program. Our teacher says that it was a complete failure. My parents said that it was not a failure. What were the outcomes (if any) of the Star Wars program?
Reagan's goal with the "Star Wars" plan was to defend the US from any possible missile attacks from the Soviet Union. It involved extremely advanced technology (such as lasers). It turned out that the technology was too advanced, and his plan kind of fell apart and people forgot about it. I would say, if there are any outcomes at all, he succeeded in making Americans somewhat more paranoid about nuclear war and the USSR.
