Question on Teenage Rebellion?

Does anyone know any statistics on this? (eg. 52% of teenagers are likely to rebel if their parents are alcoholics) <--not true

Thanks for the help in advance! =)

Teenage rebellion is generally a good thing. This is the teenager forming a true identity separate from the parent. Often the rebellion is in the form of a lifestyle which contradicts the outward demonstration of parental attitudes and beliefs. I have often found the "preacher's kid syndrome" to be true in that a minister may have a child that becomes very defiant. We see this also in cyclical changes in political beliefs. We run through periods in which conservative belief dominates and then into periods in which liberal beliefs dominate. This occurs as young people rebel against the attitudes and beliefs of their parents.
